Sweep or pick up loose debris first so you are not grinding it into the surface when you scrub.
Choose cleaners made for marine surfaces and follow the label. Harsh chemicals can damage surfaces and are often restricted by marinas.
Wet a section, scrub gently with a soft brush, and rinse before moving on so soap never dries on the deck.
Leftover soap attracts dirt and leaves a film. Rinse until the water runs clear, and keep runoff in mind at crowded docks.
Wet decks are slippery. Wear non-slip shoes, and take extra care on steps and swim platforms.
